' As a magician I tried to show things to people that seem impossible...n I think magic whether holding your breath or shuffling your cards...its pretty simple. Its pratice its training and experimenting about pushing through the pains to be the best I can be. Thats what magic is to me. ' - David Blaine!

Problem with new guys!
There is some anecdote about Oscar Wilde[I am not sure about who this is]!
" He asked me do you like card tricks? And I said no. Then he showed me 5 card tricks "

I am getting into magic...
So whats the most imprtant thing you need to know? And the most important thing in my opinion is to learn three great pieces of magic. Thats all you need. Three great pieces.. because the difference between an amateur and a professional is that, professional does three great pieces and an amateur does a zillion. but none of them well. pick three and make sure that do it better than anyone else.

Genius
Today there is an article that geniuses can be made. What is the difference is that they have a lot of patience for what they do. That boring routine... they keep on doing doing...Mozart practised music for atleast 10000 hours.
The same thing happened to me in magic. Though I am not claiming that I am genius but the practice. Whenever someone comes to me and asks me to do magic, the very first routine I show them is Ambitious Card! In this routine, the spectator chooses a card and puts it in the middle of the cards. The magician just snaps his fingers. Boom it appears on the top of the deck. You do it as many times as you want..with same or different card or with entirely new different cards or signed card.
This one trick I practiced it like umpteen number of times. Always my there will be cards in my hands and I will be unnoticingly doing this routine without any spectator. It became so automatic that, even If I know the secret, like Paul " The GOd " Harris, I get astonished looking at my trick, even though I know the secret. And if someone asks me the secret the answer I give is : " I don't know " Because apparently I don't know.

Moi forst mogic-o-log
I think its more than 1 year that I started doing magic. And of course I love it.
I learned my first trick from my friend Shiva[ messodu! he is not a mess but was a mess secy. yeah.. on second and third thoughts he is messy. ] He taught me the first trick by the name double card monte[ You hand two aces and they turn into kings and that too in their hands ]. I love doing it.
After lot of practice and performance now that I am good at it. My magic is close up kind. Not a stage performance. Like its one on one. Small group!
After a lot of learning and reading I stumble upon an article about Paul Harris![ Sir would be an appropriate salutation ] After reading and looking at his magic my view on magic totally changed. It is an art form which I believed. But after his interviews I have to agree that its the highest form of art.
Whenever we are encountered with some art piece like a painting, generally speaking we are associated with some emotion - good or bad. But when you see a magic art piece you are in your natural state of mind. Stripped of all your emotions and you are left with moment of astonishment.
Astonishment - the natural state of your mind. When you take birth, everything in the new world we enter seems astonishing. Thats what he[ Paul Harris - the whacky n close up kinda guy ] n me call the natural state of mind.
The same natural state of mind intrigues me to go on n on with moi mogic![ ooh.. i am not a bongoli! ]
